Inon his fiftieth birthday a function, attended by community leaders in Cairo, was held to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of his literary and social activities.

Two similar functions were held in Sydney in andto commemorate his dedicated years serving the Armenian communities in Cairo and Sydney, coinciding with his 65th and 75th birthdays. Yapoudjian married Angele Mirzayan and they have one son, Arek married to Dr. Mary Karakotchian and one daughter, Maro, married to Dr. Haroutune Jebejian, and five grandchildren.
On his departure to Australia, he donated almost one thousand books out of his personal library to the Library of Jesuits Congregation Monastery in Cairo, and another two thousand books to the Armenian General Benevolent Union Library in Sydney. Contents move to sidebar hide.

The official guests included heads of Churches, ecumenical representatives, prelates of the dioceses of the Catholicosate of Cilicia in Diaspora, Maronite Patriarch Rai of Lebanon, Mrs Hranoush Hagopian, the Diaspora Minister of Armenia, Ziad Hawat, president of the Byblos Municipality and the Bezikian family, sponsors of the museum.
After welcoming the guests, the president of Birds Nest, Mrs Seta Khedeshian, recounted the history of the institution as an orphanage, founded by Danish missionaries, and explained the purpose of the museum. She then invited Alecco Bezikian to address the guests. Mr Bezikian spoke of his father, who was one of the thousands of orphans raised in the Birds Nest.
